Twin Peaks revisited

While updating the site I came across this montage from the Twin Peaks pilot. Naughty Audrey Horne changing her shoes at school.
Fabulous! We shot this at a local High school in Snowqualmie, WA.
Lara Flynn Boyle and I took polaroids (pre-digital age) and hung them in the lockers...we were bored and a little naughty too...Days were long, sometimes 19 hours. Imagine getting back to school on Monday and there was an autographed picture in your locker of Sherilyn Fenn or Lara Flynn Boyle. LOL!

At a recent shoot for LA Confidential I got to try on the famous Archduke Joseph 76.45 carat diamond necklace believed to have originated in Golconda, India in 400-BC-1700 AD. It had three guards!
For a brief moment I lived out my princess fantasy!

Jemma Kidd's Makeup School

Spent the afternoon at Neiman's for a leisurely lunch with a girlfriend of salmon salad and popovers and the best little demitasse cups of chicken soup we've ever tasted.
After that we were ready to hit the makeup department.
I've been dying to check out "Jemma Kidd's Makeup School" line from England.
Love her packaging with illustrations by Natasha Law, Jude's sister. She has an amazing iridescent green "Stay put" eyeliner. Also loved the crushed jewel gel eyeliner (really fine glitter) but they were out of the one I wanted. Award season, I suppose. I ordered it though, had to have it! The roll on rosy glow lip & cheek tint surprisingly turned out to be the prettiest shade of pink when I put a little on my friend. We left feeling happy and inspired. Then went to pick up my son at school there was a really fun juggling show happening. Another great day in paradise, eh?

Viva La Revolution (Face)

Recently tried "Revolotion Face" from Du Wop. (These gals are so clever) It's a pretty and sheer tinted moisturizer with subtle light reflecting pigment, and SPF 15, Perfect for a “no makeup” look. "Revolotion Face" is great for multi- tasking moms and women on the go. Also beautiful on mature skins. Many lovely colors to choose from. I am also a HUGE fan of "Revolotion" the tinted body moisturizer. I use it on everyone and it has replaced body makeup in my kit. I wouldn't be without it. We went through this by the case loads on "Joey"!

Rock on with Mineral Makeup!

Imagine rocks finely ground in a coffee grinder...That is the secret to mineral pigment based makeup.
I love the look and feel of Mineral Foundations. They reduce the appearance of fine lines, and acne by covering flaws with light reflecting pigments. A reknowned Beverly Hills facialist told me they also help clear the skin while wearing them. While not suggesting you sleep in your makeup (heaven forbid!) it may not be such a bad thing with minerals on them. I hate the way most foundations feel on my skin. Mineral foundations brush on like a powder and feel very light on your skin.
Begin by concealing where needed. The mineral foundation will act as a powder setting the concealer. Now dip a large sable powder brush into the Mineral makeup and tap the handle vertically downward to distribute powder into the bristles and to remove the excess. Start with a small amount as a little goes a long way. I begin on the outside part of my face at the forehead using circular strokes and build thin layers of color into the skin all around the perimeter of my face. Next get a little more product on your brush and using the same round strokes go from the forehead down the nose to chin, taking care to really get around the nose. Next use your (clean) fingers or a powder puff to buff the makeup in the T-zone so it doesn’t lie on top of pores drawing more attention to them. There are many good Mineral makeup lines out there but I prefer Sheer Cover Mineral Makeup available at sheercover.com. The yellow based colors are very realistic looking and flattering on the skin. Some mineral lines have pigments that are not as finely milled and even colors that can make the skin look ashy.
